Description
The Oversea Sound Sensor listens for sound alarms and other high-volume noises on your boat, sending you an alert as soon as it hears them.
It turns other alarms you might have, such as smoke alarms, CO2 alarms and high-water alarms, into smart alarms, sending alerts to your Oversea app and by text and e-mail to you and others on your monitoring team.
The sound sensor sends an alert whenever it hears a sound louder than 80dB, which is the the loudness of a standard vacuum cleaner. Smoke alarms typically sound at 85dB.
Because of the long range of the sensor’s RF connection, you can use a single Hub to monitor sound sensors on more than one boat, provided the other boats are close by.
The Sound Sensor is small (3.75″ x 2.15″ x 1.05″), lightweight (4.5 oz.) and built to withstand harsh marine conditions (IP67). It is powered by 2 off-the-shelf replaceable AA batteries, which provide 3 to 5 years of operation per set of batteries.
The sensor is shipped with various mounting options, including screws, Velcro tape and magnets.
Important Operating Information:
Our self-powered, 100% wireless sensors, require an Oversea Hub near your boat for the sensor to function; you must either own one or have access to a Hub within range. Oversea devices require a subscription to activate, and currently only provides monitoring for boats located in the United States and Canada.
