The Oversea Hub
The Skyhawk Oversea Hub is the heart of our self-powered, Internet of Things (IoT) solution for monitoring the safety, readiness, and security. Alone, this AA-battery powered device provides years of location-on-demand tracking and can detect even small compass bearing fluctuations to immediately alert owners to potential theft, unauthorized movement, or a dragging anchor.
Because the Hub and all sensors are battery powered, Skyhawk Oversea delivers year-round monitoring with no drain on the boat’s batteries. It’s perfect for boats of all types and sizes, whether they’re stored in a marina, on a trailer, on a home dock or boat lift, or even on a mooring.
The Oversea Battery Sensor
The Oversea Battery Sensor is a self-powered wireless sensor which attaches to the terminals of your boat battery and monitors the battery’s voltage level, so you can know that your boat is fully charged and ready to go when you want to take it out.
The Battery Sensor samples the battery’s voltage every 15 minutes and relays the voltage level to the Oversea Hub using a long-range radio frequency (RF) connection. The Hub relays the battery data to the Oversea app on your mobile phone, and generates alerts in the app, by e-mail and/or by SMS if the battery voltage is too low or is declining too rapidly.
The Battery Sensor is small (2.75″ x 3.75″ x 1.15″), lightweight (5.5 oz.) and built to withstand harsh marine conditions (IP67). It is powered by 2 replaceable lithium AA batteries, which provide 3 to 5 years of operation per set of batteries.
The Oversea Bilge High-Water Sensor
The Oversea Bilge High-Water Sensor is meticulously designed to safeguard your boat by providing comprehensive monitoring of your bilge. Its primary function is to detect when the bilge water level becomes excessively high, thereby alerting you to potential issues before they escalate. Additionally, the Bilge High-Water Sensor sensor measures and reports the temperature within the bilge, ensuring you are aware of any potentially damaging conditions.
Housed within the sensor’s internal structure is an advanced temperature probe that continuously monitors the bilge environment. This probe is particularly crucial in colder climates, as it provides warnings when the temperature drops below 39°F/4°C. If high levels of water or temperature drops in your bilge are detected, this will be relayed to the Oversea Hub using a long-range radio frequency (RF) connection. The Hub relays the bilge high-water data to the Oversea app on your mobile phone, and generates alerts in the app, by e-mail and/or by SMS based on your specified parameters.
The Bilge High-Water Sensor is small (2.75″ x 3.75″ x 1.15″), lightweight (5.5 oz.) and built to withstand harsh marine conditions (IP67). The Bilge High-Water Sensor ships with a standard 4-foot extension cable, terminating in a 2-prong sensor, as well as with screws, Velcro tape and magnets to mount the sensor box adjacent to your bilge.
The Oversea Entry Sensor
Designed to alert you immediately to unauthorized access into your boat, the Entry Sensor uses a magnetic reed switch to detect when an access point is opened. The Entry Sensor, smaller than other Oversea Sensors, mounts onto one side of the access point, and a small magnet holder mounts to the other side. When the two components are separated, an alert is generated. When an entry breach is detected, you’ll receive alerts in the Oversea app, by e-mail and/or by SMS based on your specified parameters.
The Entry Sensor is compact — the main sensor is (3.6″ x 1.1″ x 1.0″). It it lightweight (1.75 oz.) and built to withstand harsh marine conditions, with IP67 protection. It is powered by a replaceable CR123 lithium cell, which provides several years of operation per battery.
Important Operating Information:
Oversea devices require a subscription to activate, and currently only provides monitoring for boats located in the United States and Canada. You’ll find more information on subscription rates in the adjacent subscription tab.
Subscription Information
Oversea subscription costs are determined by the number of devices in your Oversea network and whether you opt for an 1-year or 2-year subscription. All subscriptions are paid in advance for the selected term and will auto-renew unless canceled. You will receive advance notice of any renewal.
A subscription is necessary to connect your Oversea devices to the mobile app. Subscriptions are purchased through the Oversea app as part of the setup process for each device.
